What Happened this Sunmer and Upcoming Shows
Summer has been a busy season in the studio...and a great time for exploration! New techniques and media always intrigue artists and Laura is no exception to that rule. She has been experimenting with layers and interference paint, unique backgrounds, color/hue dynamics and all sorts of other really dorky art-geek stuff...and she loves every minute of it!
You can see a really cool 2-piece sea life painting by Laura Gammons at The Red Shoe Studio Gallery on Middle Street in New Bern NC...and at A Hopeful Balance Yoga Studio on Middle Street you will find the unique, perfect-for-gifting oyster shell paintings shown here. Layers of glaze and interference paints do some pretty magical things with light in these.
Laura currently has a painting in the Mumfest Exhibit sponsored By Bank of the Arts. This exhibit is spread out all over downtown New Bern. Laura's painting is housed at The Red Shoe.
There is also a "Critter Exhibit" coming up at Craven Arts Council in November/December. Laura is busy painting away and looks forward to filling space in that Beautiful Gallery! This is always a very popular, feel-good show....who doesn't love cute animal pictures?
Lastly for the month of November, Laura will be exhibiting 6 paintings at the Blount-Bridgers House in Historic Tarboro NC for the annual fundraiser. Please make the trip to the gallery in this charming little town to see art from many talented artists!!
For more information about where to find Laura's art or to consult with her regarding a piece of art, please contact her at her email address.
"The Alley" by Laura Gammons has been selected by the New Bern Historic Downtown Residents' Association to be used on one of the decorative banners we will see on Broad Street! Look for this and many others to grace our downtown area this summer! For more information on the 2017 Banner Project, please visit www.newbernbanners.org

Art for Charity
Laura Gammons has earmarked several paintings at the Brown Pelican on Broad Street in New Bern to benefit Promise Place. Fifty percent of the sale price will go directly to the charity. Some of the paintings are shown here on lauragammons.com. This special event will run through March 31, 2017.
Four small works have also been donated by the artist to Community Artists Will(CAW), also on Broad Street in New Bern. Each of the four donated pieces will sell for $40 and proceeds will benefit the non-profit organization.
Art for Charity
The Brown Pelican at 411 Broad Street in New Bern has graciously offered space in the piano room to house art by Laura Gammons. The sale of each Laura Gammons painting in this space goes to benefit charity. The project began in December 2016 to benefit Craven Habitat and now continues through March 31, 2017 to benefit Promise Place.
The Brown Pelican continues to give back to the community by hosting several charity events each year. It's a great local pub with a heart. It is also the best live music venue in town!!!
